There are several hotly contested US House races in New York this year, and I’ve created a simple spreadsheet for the ones near me to keep track of the basic facts on who is running. Also, for each race I’m tracking, I have created a Twitter List so we can get realtime updates as things happen in each campaign.
The link to each candidate tracker is at the top of this web site, and here:
New York CD-2 2020 Candidates
New York CD-17 2020 Candidates
NEW: New York CD-15 2020 Candidates
So far, I’m watching NY-CD-17, which includes all of Rockland County, and portions of central and northwestern Westchester County After over 30 years incumbent Nita Lowey (D) is hanging up her spikes, at last, leaving an opening that may only come once in a generation, given the high incumbency rate in Congress. There seem to be 10 Democratic candidates pursuing the seat, actively, and at least one Republican.
Also on my radar is NY-CD-2, along the South Shore of Long Island, New York. Representative Peter King (R) will call it quits after a respectable four terms. So far, one Democrat, Jacqueline Gordon is making a serious run to flip the district to blue, and several Republicans are vying to backfill King.
One more feature-ette I hope you like is I have created a Twitter List containing all of the known Twitter accounts for each race. If you subscribe, you will get realtime updates, and I find that the best way to keep track of these fast moving contests.
